PSNews - Military engineers fromof the Hai Phong city Military Command successfully moved a largehuge bomb to a safer place for detonation on October 6.
The MK81 bomb, 15cm in diameter, 2m in length and 110kg in weight, was found in Cat Ba town by local fishermen.

The bomb was believed to be dropped by US aircraft during the war in Vietnam.
Upon receiving the information , the city Military Command dispatched its engineers to the scene to move the bomb to a safe site for detonation.
Earlier on August 19, military engineers of the Hai Phong Municipal Military Command also successfully deactivated and removed a huge bomb, uncovered in Tam Bac river, to a safer place for detonation.
According to official statitics, Vietnam is one of countries most contaminated with unexploded ordnances. It is estimated that about 800,000 tonnes of unexploded ordnances were left across the country after the war ended in 1975, scattered over all 63 cities and provinces, with a high concentration in central provinces.
Experts said that Vietnam needs dozens of billions of USD and about 100 years to clean out these bombs, mines and unexploded ordnances left by wars.
