Hung Vuong Hospital introduces new modern mammography system
PSNews- The Hung Vuong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) officially put into operation the system of digital mammography, the first modern equipment ever deployed in the network of public hospitals.
Breast cancer is among the leading cancers of women. Although the disease is extremely dangerous, thanks to early detection, breast cancer is still effectively cured.
However, women have little knowledge of this disease, according to TS.B.S Hoang Thi Diem Tuyet - Director of Hung Vuong Hospital.
With old methods of examination, doctors can only detect the disease when trauma and tumor have developed or metastases have appeared. Hung Vuong Hospital has invested over VND 4 billion to develop a digital mammography system for early screening and detecting breast cancer, so as to treat breast cancer patients on time. Patients have to pay only VND 500,000 for the hi-tech service (medical insurance does not cover the cost).
Doctor Le Thi Quynh Ha – Dean of the Department of Imaging Diagnosis, said the Senographe Crystal digital camera provides doctors clear pictures of patients, helping them give exact diagnoses.
The mammogram techniques can detect such tiny changes in the breast size changes that doctors cannot feel when using their hands to examine by the traditional clinic method.
This machine really helps doctors effectively screen and detect breast cancer, contributing to improving the quality of medical treatment for people.
