Kon Tum: Tens of thousands of poor people receive free medical check-ups

The Israeli Embassy in Vietnam worked with the Family Medical Practice Vietnam to give free medical check-ups and presents to poor families in Kon Plong district of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum between September 12th and 16th.
The program saw the participation of 25 doctors and 25 nurses from the UK, France, America, Japan and Israel, as well as medical staff coming from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city and Da Nang city.

The delegation provided free medical check-ups for some 13,000-14,000 local residents. Apart from giving free medical check-ups, the delegation has made fact-finding tours to study local residents’ life, considering factors that may lead to diseases, and warning people about eliminating the factors. 

On the occasion, the delegation has presented 35,000 gifts to poor families in the district, an ultrasound machine worth VND700 million to the district health centre, and over VND300 million to Mang But and Hieu communes in support of repairing schools and digging wells
