Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on the 2020 Lunar New Year holiday.
Under the proposal, employees in State administrative agencies, non-productive establishments, political and socio-political organisations will have seven days off from January 23 to 29 to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rat.The Lunar New Year is the biggest festival in a year for Vietnamese. It is traditionally an occasion for family reunion, and most people will try to return to the home village for the celebration.
