Vice Minister Nghia said that she was impressed and moved when reading a letter from Nguyen Nguyet Linh, a 5 grader of Marie Curie School, Hanoi to 40 different schools in the city calling for a stop or reduction of using balloons in the school year’s opening ceremony.
Vice Minister Nghia stressed that Linh is a small student but knows how to express her opinions about environmental pollution, a current hot issue nowadays, and showing her responsibility for environmental protection.
Nghia also noted that many schools have showed their support for Linh’s ideas, and that the Ministry of Education and Training expects to receive more ideas on environmental protection from the students.
The Ministry also asked schools to have more creative and suitable ways to hold the opening day of the school year.
The Ministry will soon give instructions to all schools on the organization of their opening ceremony for the 2019-2020 school year, focusing on environmental protection.
