The Prime Minister has decided to establish a National Committee for Children which will help the Government and the PM deal with child-related issues and the implementation of children’s rights.

The committee will also propose orientations and solutions to child-related matters and promote the enforcement of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

At the same time, it will coordinate with the agencies of the National Assembly, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organisations, along with social and social-professional organisations, to enforce children’s rights and address all issues relating to children.

The committee will be assigned to instruct the relevant ministries, agencies and localities to report the outcomes of the implementation of children’s rights and relevant tasks, as well as the effectuation of the UNCRC, to the National Assembly.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will serve as the standing office for the committee and is responsible for ensuring the committee’s working conditions and personnel.
