National child protection hotline launched

PSNews - The national hotline for child protection was officially launched on December 6 after the first meeting of the National Commission on Children. 

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended and press the button to launch the hotline. The launching ceremony also witnessed the participation of the Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung; Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha and representatives of relevant agencies and international organizations.

The new phone number of the hotline for child protection is 111, which has been upgraded from the helpline to offer advise and support to children with the dial number of 18001567 after 13 years of operation.

The newly-launched national hotline for child protection provides special public services, receiving information, reports and petitions from agencies, organizations, educational institutions, families, individuals and children on the telephone about child abuse and violence.

The hotline also provides consultancy about laws, policies, knowledge and skills regarding the children's rights practices, and children’s psychology for children themselves, their parents and family members.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung called on agencies, organizations and individuals to dial 111 to inform and denounce any violent acts against children and child abuse cases.
