Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized the importance of digitization in broadcasting when meeting with radio “The Voice of Vietnam” (VOV) leading officials on February 19.

Phuc said that although Vietnam has made strides in communications in recent years, there remains a big gap with many other countries in this field.

Digital technology, the Internet, social networks and new means of communication are challenging the media in general and the VOV in particular, he stated.

The Government leader asked the radio to improve the quality and expand the coverage of its channels.

He agreed with the agency’s proposal of expanding its VOV traffic channel to the central coastal, central and southern regions.

VOV General Director Nguyen The Ky told PM Phuc that from now to 2025 and the following years, the agency will strive to improve contents, intensify the application of information technology and increase governance capacity.
