The tremor did not trigger a tsunami but briefly left around 170,000 houses in the Osaka region without power and cause blazes. It also suspended train operation during the morning commuting hours and disrupted operation of many companies.
The earthquake registered up to a lower-6 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 0 to 7, meaning it is hard to stay standing. It caused violent shaking due to its shallow depth of 13km, the new agency said.-
