The national one stop shop (OSS) mechanism offering airline services will be implemented at all international airports across Vietnam from November 15, the General Department of Customs has announced.

After the pilot implementation of the OSS mechanism at the Noi Bai International Airport from January 1, 2017, the General Department of Customs is ready to launch the national OSS system nationwide from mid-November this year.

So far, all airlines have confirmed that they will participate in the OSS mechanism offering airline services.

The OSS mechanism allows users to submit information and electronic documents through the national OSS portal to carry out procedures regulated by State management agencies related to the exit, entry or transit of aircrafts. State management agencies will issue clearance decisions through the national OSS portal.

The most important feature of the OSS aviation system is that airlines information will be electronically provided for government agencies to serve the management of airline vehicles.

The information submitted to the national OSS portal will be jointly received and managed by five State management agencies including border gate customs, airport authorities, border gate police, animal and plant quarantine agencies, and border medical quarantine organisations.

The OSS mechanism is expected to save time and cost while ensuring transparency and reducing direct contact with State management agencies.
