Party Chief orders to set up 8 working groups to inspect corruption cases

PSNews - The working groups will focus inspection on under-investigation cases, the processes of prosecution, investigation and judgment of complex corruption and economic cases, especially the ones that have drawn great concern from society.

The inspection aims to assess the leadership of local Party Committees in detecting and tackling corruption in their localities, contributing to halt negative phenomena relating to “self-transformation” and “self-evolution”.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong – Head of the Central Steering Committee on Corruption Prevention has signed plan No.64-KH/BCDTW and decision No.65-QĐ/BCDTW to dispatch 8 inspection groups, targeting 20 Provincial Party Standing Committees with serious corruption and economic cases.

The working groups will focus inspection on under-investigation cases, the processes of prosecution, investigation and judgment of complex corruption and economic cases, especially the ones that have drawn great concern from society.

The inspection aims to point out limitations in leadership and management of local Party committees and authorities, and find out core origins of the corruption and economic cases as well as to propose solutions to improving efficiency of detecting and dealing with corruption in the time ahead. 

Additionally, Party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong has instructed the 8 inspection groups to exercise thriftiness and strive for practical outcomes during their operation, and tasked the Party Central Committee’s Commission on Internal Affairs to summarize inspection outcomes and report the Steering Committee on Corruption Prevention on inspection results by October 30.
