Public security medical workers join COVID-19 fight in Bac Giang

PSNews - Despite hot weather, hundreds of doctors and medical staff of the Ministry of Public Security are striving their best to help fight the spread of the COVID-19 in the Northern province of Bac Giang.

Earlier on May 27, nearly 200 doctors and nurses from the 198 Hospital and the Hospital of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Public Security have just arrived in Bac Giang to run field hospital No.2 in the province.

All of the public security doctors and nurses have volunteered to go to the COVID-19 hotspot of Bac Giang. To date, the field hospital admitted over 500 COVID-19 patients.

Before undertaking missions at the field hospital, they had all taken tests for COVID-19 and participated in a brief training course conducted by experienced medical experts from Bac Mai Hospital.

In Bac Giang in recent day, the temperatures are around 40 degrees and the outdoor temperatures can reach as high as 50 degrees.

Despite the hot weather, the Public Security health workers are striving their best to help fight the spread of the COVID-19, as they have to diligently work outdoors or take test samples in their protective suits.

Bac Giang, worst hit hotspot, records an additional 55 COVID-19 cases on June 3's morning, taking the total number of infections in the province to 2,620.

To date, about 26,000 medical staff and students have registered by Saturday to aid the COVID-19 battle in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang province, in response to a recent call of the Ministry of Health.
