Quang Tri successfully defuses 240-kg bomb

PSNews-Sappers of Quang Tri province has successfully defused a bomb 240 kg in weight and 1.6 meters in length, lying 6 meters deep underground.

On 19-4, the Quang Tri Military Command said that sappers detected the bomb when clearing site for a project to extend the Lao Bao international border gate, Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri).
The bomb contained approximately 80kg of explosives. After discovering the bomb, sappers of Quang Tri managed to move the bomb away and safely detonated it.
Reportedly, the bomb, a low-drag general-purpose MK 82 bomb, was made in the US and dropped in Lao Bao by the American Air Force in wartime but it failed to explode.
