Repatriation flight from Taiwan sees arrivals test negative for COVID-19

A total of 155 Vietnamese citizens who arrived back in the country after being repatriated from Taiwan (China) have tested negative for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during the first round of testing.

According to the Military High Command of the southern province of Soc Trang, upon their arrival on March 12 all passengers were quarantined in line with COVID-19 regulations. The majority of the latest arrivals are guest workers with expired labor contracts along with overseas students whose school accommodation has closed.
The 155 passengers were made up 77 males and 78 females, including one child and 43 pregnant women, all of whom were quarantined at a military facility in the province.
Once they were sampled as part of the first round of COVID-19 testing, all of their results came back negative for the virus, with all of the passengers remaining in a stable health condition.
