"Run for the Heart" raises over 3 billion VND for children with congenital heart diseases

PSNews - The Heartbeat Vietnam - a health care program of VinaCapital Foundation in collaboration with the Gamuda Land Vietnam on January 15 held the 8th "Run for the Heart" race in Ho Chi Minh City.

More than 3 billion VND (nearly 129,000 USD) has been raised during the 8th Run for the Heart race, an annual event to support disadvantaged children with congenital heart diseases.

With the funding, about 115 children with congenital heart diseases would be able to receive free surgeries, raising the total number of beneficiaries from the programme to over 1,300 so far.

In order to organize the event responsibly to prevent the risk of COVID-19 outbreak in the community, the “race track” of the Run for the Heart 2020 held entirely on cyberspace, bring interesting experiences for racers. 

The organizers have partnered with Vietrace365, one of the most popular online virtual race platforms in the running community of Vietnam to offer “the race courses” nationwide.

A highlight of the race this year was fundraising through a series of mini gameshows broadcast live on its official communication channels, which were joined by a large number of celebrities.
