- The Singaporean Navy’s RSS Intrepid with 150 crewmembers on board docked at Tien Sa Port in central Da Nang City on April 26, beginning a four-day visit to Vietnam.
A welcoming ceremony for Singaporean officers and sailors was attended by representatives of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, the High Command of the Naval Zone 3, the High Command of the Military Zone 5, the municipal Border Guard Command and other agencies, together with Singaporean representatives such as Tan Chong Kuang Edmund, defense attaché to Vietnam.
During their four-day stay in Da Nang, the Singaporean officers and sailors will pay courtesy visits to the leaders of Da Nang People’s Committee, the High Command of the Naval Zone 3 and the High Command of the Military Zone 5, as well as taking part in cultural exchanges and sports activities with their counterparts in the Naval Zone 3. They will also visit some of the central city’s sightseeing spots.
Vietnamese and Singaporean naval soldiers will conduct a joint search and rescue exercise at sea and receive training on the use of international flags, lighting and radio in signalling.
