Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has underscored labor cooperation among Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam as part of the partnership within ASEAN.

Dam was speaking at the 2nd ministerial meeting on human resource development and sustainable employment for migrant workers in the central city of Danang city on August 2.

"The meeting’s agenda covers issues related to migrant workers, human resource development, and future jobs for cross-border migrants. We hope that ministers and other participants will work out useful recommendations for higher-quality management of labor migration. This will contribute to personnel exchanges and creating a new momentum to build a sustainable and dynamic ASEAN," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister called on countries to capitalize on labor migration by cooperating further in education and vocational training, economic development, trade, and science and technology.

He said countries also need to share information on the labor market and labor-related law and policies, and ensure welfare for migrant workers.
