Hundreds of guests attended a gala organized on March 27 by Vietnamese students studying at the Sejong University in the Republic of Korea (ROK).

At the event, Prof Kim Seong Eok from Sejong University noted there are nearly 200 Vietnamese students now pursuing advanced studies at the university and lauded their contribution to the cultural diversity of campus life.

The Vietnamese enrolment at the university has expanded considerably in the last decade, said the Professor, adding that they contribute to the diversity of classrooms, campuses and the local community.

Most notably, these students add different perspectives in the classroom and enhance the mutual understanding and appreciation of the differences in peoples found around the globe, he said.

Therefore, we embrace Vietnamese international students on the campus because of their contributions that have a positive impact on the student population on so many distinct levels.

These levels that are influenced include academic prestige, cultural exchange, sports competitions and financial revenue.
