PSNews - Located at the gateway of Vietnam’s capital city, the Long Bien - Nguyen Van Cu intersection (Hanoi) has been completed synchronously with Vietnam’s largest steel bridge and underground tunnel at a total cost of over 2.800 billion VND.

The traffic intersection at central Long Bien district was officially started on May 6th 2014 under the form of a BT (Build-Transfer) contract totalling 2,847 billion VND. Currently, all bid packages of the project have basically been completed facilitating transportation.

The main bid package is the overpass through the roundabout with 6 lanes leading to Nguyen Van Linh - Highway 5. The overpass is more than 800m in length and has a speed limit of 80km/h.
The overpass has 16 beams, including the main bridge and bridge supporting road system with reinforced steel concrete box girders. This is the largest steel bridge in Vietnam.
The project also includes the following items: urban road in the two sides of the overpass; two railway bridges below the overpass, and an underground tunnel going through the roundabout.
Along roads exiting the roundabout, green trees are planted and are 5m tall.
The Long Bien intersection and the steel overpass plays an important role in connecting Hanoi’s Northern gateway to Highway 5, helping reduce traffic congestion and accidents in the area. The intersection is also on the main transportation route serving the industrial zones and urban areas in the North of the Red river and linking ring road No.2 in the Northeast of the city.
