Thousands of people visit Vietnamese Book Day 2017

The opening of the 4th Book Day has created an impressive cultural space, and a venue for book lovers in the capital city of Hanoi. The event has also spread cultural values accumulated from book pages to people of all walks of life.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Minh Hong emphasized that the Fourth Vietnam Book Day of 2017, was held in association with the 90th anniversary of the publication of "Duong kach menh" book by President Ho Chi Minh. This work played an important role in popularizing Marxism-Leninism in Vietnam in the 1920s, and became the torch leading the way to national liberation revolution, opening a new history of the country.
With the great significance of the book, the Ministry of Information and Communications proposed the Prime Minister to select April 21 (the release day of the book) as the Vietnam Book Day, starting from 2017.
