Transfer of suspect to Chinese Police

HCMC – Vietnam Police Department on Criminal Fugitives (C52) in cooperation with Department on Foreign Relations (V12) and other relevant agencies conducted transfer of Chinese suspect named Lu Ping.

Witnesses of the transfer included, Major General Nguyen Dinh, Director of C52, representing Vietnam Police force and Mr. Zhao Wanpeng, Counsellor from Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and Shanghai Police officers.

As reported by PSN, Lu Ping, 35, passport number E20662742 was sent to detention by Police of Baoshan district, Shanghai for illegal deposit mobilization from the people. He fled to Vietnam after committing the crime.

Lu Ping made use of his relations to invite a number of people to his company, which is specialized in currency business, in order to introduce beneficial projects with high interest rates. He succeeded in mobilizing VNĐ 18billion of capital but failed to pay back and then fled to Vietnam.

Division 5 under C52 in cooperation with Police Division on Fugitives of Can Tho arrested the suspect on September 29th in Can Tho.

Vietnam Police informed police force of China about the arrest of Lu Ping as well as further exchanged about extradition and transfer of the suspect at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

On October 2nd, the extradition and transfer of Lu Ping to China Police were conducted under regulations of the law and appropriate manners, thanks to cooperation of Division 5 and other functional agencies.

The suspect was then extradited to China by air.
