Tree down on Truong Chinh street (HCM city) due to strong winds.
A 20m high tree (locally called Xà Cừ or Khaya senegalensis) suddenly uprooted due to severe winds and fell on power cables and the roof of a bird store caused damages.
According to initial information, at about 12:30 pm September 13th, as a result of low pressure weather there had been heavy rain in HCMC. The rain came with strong winds causing a 20 meters high tree on Truong Chinh street, ward 15, Tan Binh suddenly uprooted, weighed down on power cables and hit the roof of a bird store nearby.

According to witnesses, before the tree uprooted, the rain was quite heavy; a 50 year old man stopped to buy a raincoat and stood by the tree but was completely unaware of the situation. "I was standing next to the man, saw the tree falling down and shove him out. My action is just reflex... Luckily tree fell slowly, if not I could hardly imagine what may happen "- Mr. Tran Hai Hung (36, shopkeeper) said.
After receiving the information, functional forces conducted to clean up the scene. By 2 pm, the relocation of uprooted tree was still carried out.
