Truck crashes into bus in central Vietnam killing 13, injuring 32

PSNews – A collision between a truck and a bus occurred at around 4.00 AM May 7 on the Ho Chi Minh road section in Chu Se district, Gia Lai province killed at 13 people and injured 32 others.

According to Chairman of the Chu Se District Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh, the terrible road accident killed 12 people on the spot while one was declared dead shortly after being hospitalized.

Other injured are treated at the Gia Lai Provincial Hospital. The province so far has offered 10 million VND per each dead victim to their families and 5 million VND to each injured in the road accident.

The reason of the accident is under investigation.

The two vehicles smashed up after the incident. The crash also caused damage to a number of nearby houses.

According to the witnesses, the truck was running contrariwise at a speed of over 100km/h before crashing into the bus.

On the same day, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, asked Deputy Chairman Khuat Viet Hung and Deputy Transport Minister Le Dinh Tho to soon arrive at the incident’s location to work closely with local authorities in overcoming the consequences as well as rendering assistance to victims’ families.
