The 151st Repatriation Ceremony took place on September 17 at Danang International Airport.

The U.S. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), in collaboration with the Vietnam Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP), held its 151st Repatriation Ceremony at Danang International Airport with Consul General Marie C. Damour from the Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City attending as the senior U.S. Government official.

During the ceremony, the Government of Vietnam transferred two sets of remains believed to be those of missing U.S. Service Members from the Vietnam War.

These remains will be further examined in DPAA’s laboratory in Hawaii. The repatriation ceremony pays honor and respect to the men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Nearly eighty Americans and over two hundred of their Vietnamese partners worked together on recovery sites in Quang Binh, and Thua-Thien Hue Provinces during the 136th Joint Field Activity.

Additionally, one Vietnamese led recovery team excavated a site in Quang Ninh Province and a joint investigation team conducted operations in the Central Region of Vietnam.

This past year, both countries commemorated the 30th Anniversary of sustained U.S.-Vietnam joint field activities, marking three decades of cooperation and partnership between the United States of America and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on this humanitarian issue.
