The passenger, named T.T.C.V., was on flight VN266 in business class from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi on January 8. While the plane was about to land, the passenger accidentally dropped her diamond ring on the aircraft floor. She then informed the flight attendants that she had lost her ring.
As soon as the plane landed, Vietnam Airlines’ technical team dismantled seats and searched for the ring but they could not find it.
The plane continued its schedule flying from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City at 6pm this day. Fortunately, a flight attendant on the fight found the jewelry while inspecting the business-class cabin. The ring then was handed over to the lost property office (Lost & Found) at Tan Son Nhat Airport. On Jan. 11, the ring was returned to its rightful owner.
In order to avoid losing belongings during the flight, Vietnam Airlines notes that, passengers should wear seat belts and sit still in place when the plane is about to take off, land or pass through zones of disturbed weather.
Passengers should also carefully check their seats, the front seat pockets and luggage compartments before leaving the aircraft.
