Vietnam, Singapore share experience in museology

PSNews – The Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum (VNFAM) in collaboration with the National Gallery Singapore (NGS) on July 22 held a scientific seminar entitled “Research, collection, display and management of museum collections.”

The seminar, within the framework of professional cooperation between the two museums, attracted the participation of experts from the NGS, VNFAM as well as from other museums in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the seminar, experts discussed issues related to the research and display of exhibits at the museum as well as the development of artifact collections, and sharing of experience in observing the property right and digitalizing documents.

Besides, the delegates also shared experience in exhibits management and preservation, application of advanced technologies into information management, and assessment of risks while moving the exhibits.

The seminar was also an opportunity for officials of the VNFAM and their colleagues at the Vietnam National Museum, the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Museum and other museums in Hue, Da Nang and the Vietnam heritage management agency to exchange knowledge and experience with Singaporean experts in building an advanced, modern and successful art museum model in the region and in the world.

Opening four years ago, the NGS has become a world leading art museum. NGS is staffed with leading experts in museology and fine arts.
