Vietnam honours SOS Children’s Villages leadership

Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has ceremoniously presented the Labour Order (third class) to Siddhartha Kaul and Helmut Kutin, the current and prior president, respectively, of the SOS Children’s Villages.

At the ceremony held at the Presidential Palace on December 20, Vice State President Thinh applauded the two honourees for their dedicated leadership of the SOS Children’s Villages in support of abandoned, destitute and orphaned children in Vietnam.

In addition, noted Ms Thinh, the SOS Children's Villages, a non-governmental international organization, under the leadership of the two honourees, has run a whole range of programs and facilities in support of socially disadvantaged and impoverished families in Vietnam to help them lead a better quality of life.

During the past 25-years of operation in Vietnam, the SOS villages under their stellar leadership has mobilized funds to support nearly 30 million children and families, Ms Thinh told guests at the ceremony.

Today, she underscored, more than 1.5 million disadvantaged children across the country are benefitting from their good works.
