The Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People Committee on July 25 collaborated with the Ministry of Information and Communications, Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, and Quang Trung Software City to announce the launch of the Thua Thien – Hue provincial operation center for smart city.

The event, which was also held to call for investment in the city's information technology sector, saw the participation of the city's leaders and representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
According to the announcement at the event, the Thua Thien – Hue provincial operation center for smart city will serve as the focal hub connecting up citizens, businesses and authorities in smart urban services of the province towards building a local government that better serves the people.
The center was built on the smart-city solution of Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, which has earlier been honored as one of the "Most Innovative Smart Cities Project” at the Telecom Asia Awards 2019.
The Thua Thien – Hue provincial operation center for smart city provides 10 monitoring services, including communications systems, warning information notification system, smart city monitoring systems, environment monitoring system and public services monitoring system.
