Vietnam starts running e-application for ordinary passports

• Russia accepts passports issued by east Ukraine rebels
• Australia, Vietnam launch work and holiday visa
• Vietnamese citizens can travel to 48 countries and territories without visas
• Belarus launches short-term visa exemption to Vietnamese citizens

Accordingly, Vietnamese citizens, who request the issuance, extension, or amendment of passports, can fill in electronic application forms at https://www.hochieu.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn.

Vietnamese people who can benefit from the program (prescribed in Clause 1 of Article 3, Clause 2 and 4 of Article 4 of Circular No 29/2016/TT-BCA) include:

- Citizens had been granted passports but their passports have now been lost, damaged, or expired.

- All State officials, public workers and people of armed forces.

- Officials and workers at social - political organizations at the central and provincial levels; officials, teachers, other workers at education and training sector, students at tertiary-level schools;

- Contractors working at least one year for legal economic entities; Vietnamese citizens, sent by legal entities to work overseas under labor contracts.
