Vietnam students score third at Asean Skills Competition

Vietnamese students showcased their technology and communication skills at the recent Asean Skills Competition (September 24-26) in Kuala Lumpur, netting third place.
At the competition, 44 local contestants competed at 22 occupational skills, winning 10 gold, five silver, and four bronze medals in addition to 15 medallions of excellence for outstanding performance. 

The objective of the tournament is to promote the development of technical & vocational education and training in the Asean region, said Cao Van Sam, deputy head of the Vocational Training Department.

Among the categories in the competition were automobile technology, mobile robotics, fashion technology, mechanical engineering design and IT network systems administration.

Malaysia scored first, followed by Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. The competition is held biennially with the next matchup set for Bangkok, Thailand in 2018.
