Accordingly, CAAV has suspended inbound flights from the UK and South Africa, and countries and territories that are infected with a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and are undergoing complicated epidemics

The Ministry of Transport also asked other relevant departments and agencies to enhance direction, supervision, and inspection of transport enterprises on the implementation of pandemic prevention guidance;mask is a must for drivers, flight attendants, service workers and passengers at stations, airports, piers… and on public transport. The violators will be strictly handled.

Earlier, the ministry sent the dispatch to relevant units on the implementation of Prime Minister's Directive No. 01 on strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, over 40 countries across multiple continents have restricted or outright banned travel from the UK or other nations that have recorded cases of the mutations.

Flights coming into Vietnam are already heavily restricted, with only government-organized repatriation flights and pre-approved charter flights for experts and managers allowed. All arrivals must undergo 14 days of mandatory quarantine.
