Vietnam to conduct general survey on population and residence

PSNews – Under Decision No.772/ QĐ-TTg signed by the Prime Minister, Vietnam will conduct a general survey on population and residence on April 1, 2019.

The general survey aims to collect basic information on population and residence to serve research and analysis of the development of the country’s population and residence as well as to meet the demands for information to evaluate the outcomes of the 2011-2020 socio-economic development plans and build development strategies and plans for the next period.

The general survey also helps evaluate the implementation of the resolution of the 12th Party Central Committee on population issues in the new situation and the fulfillment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals committed by the Government of Vietnam as well as provide information for the country’s comprehensive population database.

The survey is expected to collect general information about population; migration situation; education level and professional qualifications; disability situation; marriage; fertility, mortality and population growth; children’s birth registration; labor and employment; housing; basic living standards of households.

The survey will be conducted in 25 days, starting from April 1, 2019. The preliminary results will be released in July 2019 while the sample results and comprehensive results will be announced respectively in the fourth quarter of 2019 and in the second quarter of 2020. Analysis reports will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2020.
