Vietnam to illuminate special landmarks on 50th anniversary of ASEAN
PSNews-Viet Nam will hold lighting activities at landmarks or projects symbolizing member countries of ASEAN on the evening of August 8 in five major Vietnamese cities, namely Hai Phong, Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.
The program, has been proposed by the Philippines, ASEAN 2017 Chair, is called “ASEAN Landmarks Lighting,” and will take place in all member countries of ASEAN on the evening of August 8.
Accordingly, the iconic projects or landmarks symbolizing ASEAN member countries will be illuminated with colors representing ASEAN such as red, blue and yellow or ASEAN logo.
In Vietnam, such activities will take place in the 5 major cities of Hai Phong, Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.
On the evening of August 8th, the lighting activities will be held in August Revolution Square in Hanoi as well as Thong Nhat (Unity) Hall, City Opera House, Ho Chi Minh Museum and City Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the remaining three cities, there will be public shows of short documentaries about ASEAN, and installation of the ASEAN logo and lighting activities in streets.
As the program will be held throughout ASEAN countries, it bears great significance,contributing to promoting the bloc’s unity and raising ASEAN countries’ people awareness of the ASEAN Community.
