Vietnamese students achieve high results at Int’l Maths Olympiad

PSNews - All 6 Vietnamese students brought home medals from the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2018) held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania recently. These medals include 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The students were warmly welcomed at the airport 

The students landed in Hanoi on July 15 and were warmly welcomed by their teachers, families and friends.

This year’s Olympiad took place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from July 3 to 14, said Le Anh Vinh, leader of the Vietnamese team.

All Vietnamese students participating in the Olympiad brought home 6 medals, including 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze ones. Nguyen Quang Bin excellently snatched a gold medal.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do met and praised the students for their achievements.

The success of the Vietnamese team at this year’s International Mathematical Olympiad also showed the positive results of investment of the Ministry of Education and Training in key training areas. Over the past time, the ministry has continuously renovated approaches of discovering, selecting and fostering excellent pupils. This year’s achievement has also highlighted the efforts of localities in  developing gifted schools.
