World-renowned surgeon shares experience at Viet Duc Hospital
PSNews- On June 23, Viet Duc Hospital in collaboration with the Thien Nhan and Friends Program held a scientific workshop on updated diagnosis and treatment of genital urinary tract disorders with the participation of Roberto Decastro, a world renowned surgeon and other leading experts in the urology from Italy and Vietnam.

Universally famous surgical specialists, including Dr. Emilio Merlini, Dr. Vicenzo Domenichelli from Italy, Dr. Anthony Caldamone and Dr. Dinh Tue – a Vietnamese American from the United States, and Professor Roberto DeCastro, shared their experiences on the plastic surgery of male and female genital organs. Vietnamese experts also discussed issues of sexual dysfunction and surgical techniques in cases of low-grade mumps.
Speaking about the importance of such scientific seminars, Professor Roberto Decastro said “because we always want to transfer technology to local doctors so that in the near future they can take the initiative in surgery and treatment of the patients”.
As said by Dr. Nguyen Viet Hoa, Head of the Pediatrics Department of Viet Duc Hospital, the workshop was an opportunity to learn valuable experiences from international experts as well as to share practical cases that doctors are dealing with everyday.
From June 26 to 30, experts and surgeons will conduct surgeries on 30 patients at the Pediatrics Department of Viet Duc Hospital. This is part of the activities launched by the Thien Nhan and Friends Program with the aim of offering free surgeries to children who are unfortunate to have genital defects from birth or due to accidents. The program will also assist families with travel and accommodation costs.
