The 6th Congress of the Women’s Union of General Department VIII opens in Hanoi
Accordingly, in the last term, under the leadership of the Party Committee of the General Department VIII, the Women’s Union has fulfilled the criteria of the Resolutions of the 5th Congress.

The Union has growing steady in all aspects with the strong development both in quantity and quality, achieved many important results, contributing to the political duties of the General Department and the strength and transparency of Ministry of Public Security.
Recognizing the outstanding achievements of the Women's Union of the General Department VIII, the President awarded the Thirst-Class Fatherland Protection Order.

On behalf of the Standing Party Committee, leader of the General Department, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Bang praised the achievements of the Union in the last term of office. He also urged the new Women's Union Executive Board of the General Department to firmly grasp the resolutions of the Party, State laws and policies and regulations of the Ministry of Public Security on the work of gender equality;
Officials and members of the Union should raise awareness of the purpose and significance of the activities of the Union, he added.
The new Executive Committee of the Women's Union of the General Department VIII, tenure 2016 – 2021 has 14 members and the delegation to the Congress of the Women’s Union of the Ministry of Public Security has 60 members.
