Da Nang gears up for APEC High-level Week 2017

According to the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee, preparations for the APEC High-level Week 2017 slated for November 6 - 11 in Da Nang have been paid special attention.

The city has improved infrastructure, including a number of major roads, turning the city’s Fair and Exhibition Center into a press center and making repairs to Tien Son Sports Palace. Meanwhile, construction of socially-funded projects for the summit week, such as Ariyana International Convention and Exhibition Center, Sheraton Hotel, APEC Park, and projects at Da Nang International Airport have been sped up to be completed as scheduled.
The city also assigned its responsible agencies to reviewing and optimizing the city's wireless system, ensuring quality of internet connection in areas where the APEC High-level Week 2017 will be held. In addition, the city has upgraded its power supply system and proposed a detailed power supply plan for the summit.
The task of ensuring urban order and environment, serving to build a clean, beautiful, civilized and impressive environment to impress delegates and visitors is also ensured.
In terms of reception and logistics, the city has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and functional agencies to organize foreign language training courses and international communication skills for leaders, cadres and civil servants of the city’s departments and sectors.
Da Nang city has also proactively surveyed and developed plans to assure security and traffic safety for all APEC High-level Week 2017’s activities, work out plans for fire prevention and firefighting operations in a number of hotels, used during the event, and plans prepared for emergency.
