Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh praises Public Security Forces for ensuring security for UN Day of Vesak

PSNews – Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh spoke highly of the Public Security Forces’ efforts to ensure absolute security and safety for the 2019 UN Day of Vesak at a meeting with officers of the event’s security command center on May 14.

The working session, which also saw the participation of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Khang, was held after the closing ceremony of the 2019 UN Day of Vesak at Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Center in Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Trung, Director of the Ha Nam Provincial Police Department briefed the Deputy PM and the delegates on the unit’s work to ensure security and order for the 2019 UN Day of Vesak, which took place from May 12 to 14.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Trung also stressed the good cooperation between the Ha Nam Provincial Police with functional forces of the Ministry of Public Security and police units from its neighboring localities such as Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh.

Addressing the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh praised the great efforts of the Public Security Forces in general and the Ha Nam Provincial Police in particular for ensuring absolute security and order for the 2019 UN Day of Vesak.

The Deputy Prime Minister also applauded the sound directions for the work from the Government, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ha Nam Province, and the good cooperation of ministries, branches and local authorities.

Also at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam presented gifts to the Ha Nam Provincial Police.

The UN Day of Vesak 2019, themed “Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies” took place at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Center in Ha Nam with the participation of some 1,500 international delegates, including state leaders, high-ranking officials and religious dignitaries of more than 100 countries and territories as well as some 10,000 Vietnamese delegates.

This is the third time the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has hosted an edition of Vesak, contributing to promoting the position of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and affirming the open policy on religions of the Party and State of Vietnam as well as promoting the images of Ha Nam and Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Public Security Forces was assigned for ensuring security, safety and order for the event, facilitating the exit and entry of foreign delegates participating in the events.
