Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on June 30 visited Omni Parker House where late President Ho Chi Minh worked from 1911-1913 during his journey to seek a way for national liberation as part of his working visit to the US.

Witnessing the late President’s remembrances being kept at the hotel, Hue thanked the hotel’s leaders for their sentiments to the late leader and the maintenance of the hotel as a special tourist site for the two countries’ people and international visitors.

This act is of significance and has contributed to tightening mutual understanding and friendship, he added.

Earlier on June 29, Deputy PM Hue received former US Secretary of State John Kerry during which he affirmed that Vietnam always treasures and appreciates Kerry’s contributions to bilateral ties, particularly in education and training.

He spoke highly of the US official’s initiatives on developing renewable and clean energies in Vietnam, adding that Vietnamese ministries and sectors are seriously considering these ideas.

Vietnam has demand for diversifying sources of energy to serve socio-economic development, while encouraging the development of solar and wind power projects.

He showed his support for intensifying bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, especially clean and renewable energies.

Kerry affirmed that in any positions, he will maintain his contributions to boosting the US-Vietnam relations.

He stressed the importance of clean and renewable energies for the socio-economic development in each nation.

Vietnam holds much potential and is capable of developing an energy strategy to ensure energy security, he said, adding that he is willing to support, and share experience with Vietnam in this field.

He took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Government for facilitating the operation of the Fulbright Vietnam University, hoping that the university will contribute to high-quality human resource training for Vietnam.

On July 1, Deputy PM Hue left Boston for Brasilia, starting his visit to Brazil from July 2-3.
