Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh emphasized Dak Lak’s extremely important strategic position in terms of economic development, security and defense in the Central Highlands region.
The development of renewable energy is a trend of the world and Vietnam, especially Dak Lak province which possesses huge potential for solar power development, with an annual average solar irradiance of roughly 1,900 kW per square kilometers, he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also called on investors and business people to follow procedures for plant operation and protect the environment during battery treatment and replacement process.

The solar plants Serepok1 and Quang Minh have a combined capacity of 100 Mega Watt peak and are constructed on an area of 120h with an investment capital of 95 million USD. The project, which began 5 months ago, is Vietnam’s biggest solar plant designed, built, and operated by domestic companies.
The project started its construction work on October 19, 2018 and was put into commercial operations on January 31, 2019.
Earlier the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited and presented gifts to Ms. Nong Thi Ham, a revolutionary veteran in village 7, Tan Hoa commune, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province.
