Deputy PM calls for more investment from US State of Utah

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh has urged businesses and educational establishments of the US State of Utah to increase investment in Vietnam.

At a reception in Hanoi on August 30 for the visiting Governor of Utah state Gary Herbert, the Deputy PM said Vietnam desires more investment from Utah State in transport infrastructure, science, water resources management, sustainable agricultural development, urban planning and climate change response. 

He affirmed the Vietnamese government's determination to carry out comprehensive and synchronous reform, with a focus on rapid and sustainable economic development; building a constructive, transparent and action-oriented cabinet; and ensuring interests of investors by acquiring their feedback and soon clearing their obstacles. 

Herbert, in turn told his host that Utah will further strengthen the friendship and effective and practical cooperation with Vietnam as a contribution to the bilateral relations.

On the occasion, the US delegation also met Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, leaders of the ministries of industry and trade, science and technology, and businesses from the two cities.
