Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh had a phone conversation with Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah on March 12 to discuss some issues bilateral relations.

Concerning the accusation of Vietnamese citizen Doan Thi Huong, who was alleged to have killed an individual from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Malaysia in February 2017, Deputy PM Minh reiterated that Vietnamese leaders and people have been taking heed to the trial process and its results.
He asked the Malaysian side to ensure fairness for and to set Doang Thi Huong free.
The two ministers assured their closer coordination in bilateral and multilateral aspects over the years and consented to continue facilitating all-level exchange visits and maintain regular bilateral cooperation mechanisms aiming to deepen the Vietnam-Malaysia strategic partnership. VNA/VOV
