Dung noted that over the past years, the cooperation between Vietnam and the lender has been growing, especially in infrastructure development, transport, urban expansion and climate change response.

The WB has introduced many new models in mobilising social resources, such as the public-private partnership, as well as in conducting programmes and projects suitable to Vietnam ’s conditions, especially in climate change response.

He lauded the WB’s efforts in building Vietnam Report 2035, which, he said, totally matched Vietnam’s viewpoints, orientations and targets that were determined during the 12th National Party Congress.

The Deputy PM suggested in the coming time, the WB should continue focusing on providing resources for Vietnam to help the country realise development blueprints, especially in infrastructure investment.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will apply effective measures to supervise and manage the use of loans from the WB as well as the international community in general, ensuring the efficiency of the WB-funded projects.

On his part, Dione pledged to work hard for the stronger partnership between the bank and Vietnam , which, he described, is based on mutual trust.

He also expressed his hope to receive Deputy PM Dung’s support for opinion exchanges to enhance the quality of the WB’s reports and policy consultations.
