The PC46 under the Hanoi Municipal Police Department from May 16 to August 25, 2017 in coordination with functional forces successfully investigated and resolved a number of smuggling cases, arresting many suspects and seizing valuable exhibits with an estimated value of over 60 billion VND.
The cases include the smuggling of 36.3 kg of 18k gold by air, worth about 24 billion VND; the illegal import of used machinery and equipment, valued at about 34 billion VND; and the sales of fake supplements for cancer treatment.
In the letter, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said: "On behalf of the Prime Minister and National Steering Committee 389, I commend the PC46’s officers for their outstanding achievements. Your achievements actively contribute to the success in fighting crimes of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeiting”.
Deputy Minister Truong Hoa Binh also urged the police officers to promote the achievements and to actively coordinate with other functional forces to accomplish their assigned tasks.
