Deputy Prime Minister praises war veterans

PSNews – Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on April 26 had a warm meeting with the former public security officers who were sent as reinforcements to the Southern battlefield during the national struggle against American invaders.

The event also saw the participation of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security and representatives of relevant departments under the MPS.

From 1959 to April 1975, the MPS dispatched more than 11,000 officers to the southern battlefield.

During the years fighting the enemies, thousands of public security officers bravely sacrificed their lives in southern battlefields while many others were wounded and affected by Agent Orange (dioxin).

The achievements of the public security officers contributed significantly to the nation’s final victory in the spring of 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country. After the unification of the country, the public security officers continued contributing to building clean and strong public security forces, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the national construction and defense cause in the new period.

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh spoke highly of the contribution of the veterans and emphasized that the Party, the State and the people are always grateful to the heroic martyrs in general, the public security officers reinforced to the Southern battlefield in particular, who have bravely fought for independence and freedom of the country, for peace and happiness of the people.

The great contributions and sacrifices of the public security forces in the resistance war against the American invaders have always been a pride and a priceless spiritual asset of the nation.
