Flag raised at half-mast at Ba Dinh Square on President Tran Dai Quang’s death

PSNews - On the morning of September 26, the national flag with a black ribbon was flown at half-mast at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi). The half-mast flag will last two days in accordance with the State funeral and national mourning for late President Tran Dai Quang.

At 6am on September 26, guard officers of Unit 275 under the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command started a ceremony to raise the national flag at half-mast at Ba Dinh Square, in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
The regular flag salute honors this morning was conducted at the same time with the half-staff flag raising ceremony in Ba Dinh Square. 
President Tran Dai Quang passed away at 10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi due to serious illness at the age of 62.

The event drew the participation of a large number of local people and visitors who were at the ceremony to pay tribute to late President Tran Dai Quang.

Flags at all government buildings and installations were also flown at half-mast during September 26-27. 
During the two-day national mourning, there will be no flag lowering at night. 
Meanwhile, the State funeral for late Presisent Tran Dai Quang, began at the National Funeral Hall, No.5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi on September 26.
The funeral is held by the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, State President, Government and Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
At the same time, respect paying ceremonies are also taking place at the Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, and in Village 13, Quang Thien commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province, the home province of the President.
