Foreign Ministry voices on Facebook’s violation of Vietnam's sovereignty

PSNews – Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Vietnam has full legal grounds and historical evidence on its sovereignty over the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos in line with international law.

During a press briefing on July 5, answering to reporters’ questions on Vietnam’s response to Facebook’s publication of the maps seriously violating Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ngo Toan Thang said: “Shortly after receiving the information, the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications worked with Facebook’s officials, and Facebook has now corrected the wrong information on these maps as the local press and media have reported over the past few days.”

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed that Vietnam has full legal grounds and historical evidence on its sovereignty over the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos in line with international law.
