Foreign leaders extend sympathy over severe flooding

Leaders of Cambodia, Mongolia, and the Republic of Korea have extended their sympathy to the government and people of Vietnam over human and property losses caused by recent severe flooding in the country.

In a letter to Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdec Techo Hun Sen wrote he was saddened to hear about the recent floods and landslides caused by storms Linfa and Nangka that have left many people dead and missing, destroyed crops and damaged local people's property in central Vietnam.

On the behalf of the Government and people of Cambodia, PM Hun Sen would like to extend his sympathy and deep condolences to the PM and people of Vietnam, especially to families who had lost their loved ones during the disasters. He expressed his belief Vietnam will soon overcome the aftermath of the disasters.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn cabled a message of sympathy to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

Meanwhile, Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga sent a message of sympathy to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong. Mongolian Foreign Minister Nyamtserengiin Enkhtaivan sent a telegram to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Kang Kyung-wha sent a telegram to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
