The organization of the fund is aimed to promote dissemination of information about national sovereignty over the sea and islands, raise awareness of Vietnamese people at home and overseas on the role of Vietnam’s sea and islands in general, and particularly to Spratly islands and DK1 platforms, and mobilize the Vietnamese people and international friends to support the country’s legitimate and fair claim for its sea and islands within its continental shelf.
The fund will also contribute to the realization of the resolution on the strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam’s sea economy until 2030 with a vision until 2045, and satisfying the demand for increased social involvement in protecting national sovereignty over the sea and islands and continental shelf in the new context.
Additionally, the fund, which has inherited the fund "For Beloved Spratly Islands", will continue to mobilize donation sources from enterprises of all sectors as well as individuals at home and overseas.
The Prime Minister has entrusted the Ministry of Defence to the manager of the fund.
