Japanese Emperor's visit to Vietnam: Remarkable moments

PSNews - Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on March 5 have left the old imperial city of Hue, successfully concluding their six-day State visit to Vietnam.

The State-level visit to Vietnam of Japan's Emperor and Empress took place from February 28th to March 5th in the context when the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership is growing deeply and comprehensively in various fields, such as politics, economics, security and defense, agriculture and culture.

Japan's Emperor and Empress during their State visit had meetings with Vietnamese State, National Assembly and Government leaders: President Tran Dai Quang and his wife, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife. They also joined a tea party held by Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong and his wife.

During their stay in Hanoi, the Japanese Emperor and Empress laid a wreath and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi.

As the visit features bilateral friendship, the Emperor and Empress participated in various cultural exchanges and friendly talks, and went sightseeing in the two big Vietnamese cities of Hanoi and Hue.

While staying in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, they enjoyed the Hue court music at the Duyet Thi Duong Theatre, and realized the similarity between the Vietnamese court music and the Japanese one.
